About the Author
Hello. My name is Pamverly Green. I am the mom of an awesome 10-year-old, a published author, and an elementary school teacher in Memphis, TN. I was born and raised in a small town in Mississippi called Pontotoc. Growing up there gave me a strong sense of family and tradition, of which I am very proud. I attained my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss). Then, earned my Master of Arts Degree in Teaching from the University of Memphis. I have 2 dogs and recently bought my first house.
Despite the many blessings God has bestowed upon me, though, as a single mom, and a person that has struggled with social anxiety disorder most of my adult life, I am no stranger to how stressful this life can be. It can make you feel isolated and hopeless sometimes. It's hard being the sole provider for your household, and/or sole decision maker for you and your family. Couple that with fighting a mental disorder, and it's easy to see how things can feel out of control.
So, for other single moms like myself, struggling to not only teach your kids basic morality but perseverence and how to thrive in this world; for all the moms that still believe that your dreams of owning your own business, of being a published author, of marrying the man of your dreams, of walking in God's purpose for your life is still possible, I wrote Single Black Mom's Guide to Having a Swagged-Out Lifestyle.
I know firsthand what it's like to feel overwhelmed like life won't get any better, as you trudge through your days. Many people will even tell you that this is normal. But rest assured, Sister, that's not true. That feeling on the inside that you've always had that says that there's got to be more to life than this, is correct. So, take advantage of this unique book and the safe haven of compassion and empowerment that it provides. Get ready, set, grow. Your true self is just around the corner!
I would love to know your experiences with my book. Please shoot me an email at pamverly.green@gmail.com.
